::Clean Air Act::

Onesome: Clean– as a whistle? Can you whistle? When did you learn? …and with
pursed lips or with that finger thing? ~ Gosh, I have always been SUPER envious of my mother being able to whistle with the two finger thing. I cannot do it no matter how hard I try. I can whistle with the pursed lips thing. I can’t say I remember when I learned, but I want to say around 6 years old.

Twosome: Air– quality: an issue where you live or not? …enough to move? ~
We live on the East Coast of US, so the ocean breezes really help keep this city air clean. The only problem we have is in the summer when the air seems to just hang over the area like a hot, wet, blanket.

Threesome: Act– Hey, do you ‘act your age’? Sure, that’s subjective, but what
do you think? …or better yet: what do your friends think <g>? ~ As of the moment, I think I act way older than I am, because I feel it! Those that have known me forever are worried about me because I have gotten myself into a cocoon, those that have only known me this way think I am a bit of an old loner.

Shrug and Halter by Luv2Crochet

September 26, 2006 at 6:27 am (Children's Wearables)

I really like the patterns that Luv2Crochet comes up with!  I purchased this one for my daughter and she wants to wear it EVERYWHERE!  It’s made with Bernat CottonTots – I wanted it in pink like the pattern but alas I couldn’t find it anywhere around these parts, and I didn’t want to order online this time.

So Lost Without the ‘Ville!

September 22, 2006 at 6:12 am (Journaling)

How sad is that???  The site hasn’t been up since early yesterday afternoon.  And the one place we can generally find information on what is happening is here and yet she has said nothing about what is going on.

It’s times like this that my paranoia/conspiracy theorist comes out in full force.  I start thinking all sorts of implausable situations of why “I” cannot see the ‘Ville (or stick in any number of occurences!) – Anyhoo, it’s a good thing I am working today…so I can bend my mind in a different direction!

Friday’s Feast

September 22, 2006 at 5:51 am (Friday Feast)

Friday Feast

Feast One Hundred & Twelve
Appetizer ~ Measured in minutes or hours, how much exercise have you had in the last week? ~ Sadly, I have to report that besides work (which is mostly standing) and basic motherhood activities of three children and one husband, I have not done any exercise this week.  But I am going to try to convince my husband this weekend to buy me an elliptical, does that count?

Soup ~ If you had to change your blog title to something else, what would it be? ~ Krazy KnicKnac’s Korner ~ just don’t want the acronym for it.

Salad ~ Name one television show you watched when you were 9-12 years old. ~ The Brady Bunch on Friday nights.

Main Course ~ If someone gave you $50 to spend with the one condition that it had to be educational, what would you purchase? ~ Does it have to be educational for me?  If not, then I would buy some sort of math computer program for my daughter.  For me?  I would love to learn to play the Ukulele!  Is that considered educational?

Dessert ~ Do you tend to prefer dark colors, neutral shades, or lighter/pastel hues? ~ Dark and deep.

::Ice Cream Social::

Onesome: Ice– skating? Yes? No? Rinks? Ponds? No way? ~ Never ice skated on a pond, would be way to afraid to fall down a hole into freezing cold water.  Went ice skating in a rink last summer (have an indoor rink here) and wasn’t thrilled.  Roller skating is more my style.

Twosome: Cream– soda? The work of evil scientists or a true pleasure in life <g>? ~ Oh my!  Cream soda is to DIE for!!!

Threesome: Social– Are you considered to be a social person? …or are you more likely to not be comfortable with a bunch of people around you? …and wait a moment: how about in a classroom situation? Is that different for you? ~ I used to be very social.  I used to love being around bunches and bunches of people and make them laugh.  As I have gotten older, I would rather be alone.  I get very anxious around lots of people.  Classroom?  It would depend on if the classroom is full of adults or kids.  I tend to think I would be very comfortable in a classroom full of children.

Crochet/Fabric Dress

September 20, 2006 at 5:53 am (Children's Wearables)

This is my first experiment with sewing in conjunction with crochet. I pretty much made up the pattern! But the idea came from here.

It was made with some mill ends I got from AC Moore’s in orange, I believe it was some sort of Caron Simply soft. I got the stitch from here and just worked it until I was happy with it!

Tapestry Tote

September 19, 2006 at 1:33 pm (Accessories)

Thanks goes to xampx for sharing with us her Tapestry Tote Bag – I loved her colors and how hers turned out that I was going to go to the pattern she followed and save it in my favorites.

When I went to the pattern, and saw the colors that the original tote bag came in I said to myself, Oh My Goodness! Those are my dear friends favorite colors! Blue, brown and tan! So I got to going on this, I made it in 2 evenings and the portion of another day. I knew my friend was coming to spend the night with us so I wanted it done by a certain day. My friend likes dark blue instead of the patterns light blue. Oh, and I also did little buttons instead of the crisscross pattern thingie they had.  Here is the original pattern.

I couldn’t understand the handle instructions, so I just fudged it.

I did line it, even tho the pattern didn’t call for it.

I tell you, the squares were the simple part! The putting together of this, hiding all the threads, and then putting the lining! THAT WAS THE TEDIOUS TIME CONSUMING PART!!!

Well, this was my very first “change lots of colors” project I have ever done and I gotta say, I am not so scared anymore!!! It’s just a lot more work instead of crocheting!
