TV Junkie or Not?

September 30, 2006 at 8:39 pm (Misc)

Saw this over at Tabitha’s Blog.  Thought I would give it a go – I have watched entirely TOO much television.  What I did notice in doing this tho is that most of the shows I have only seen in syndication, on Nick@Nite!!!  Oops, I added more than 3 shows, hope that is ok!!!

Instructions: Bold (or change the color) of all of the following TV shows which you’ve seen 3 or more episodes of in your lifetime. Bold and Italicize a show if you’re positive you’ve seen every episode of it. If you want, add up to 3 additional shows (keep the list in alphabetical order).

Kitchen Pants and Coasters

September 30, 2006 at 5:29 pm (Kitchen)

These are just about the cutest things ever.  When I saw the pattern, I just had to make them for my sister!!!  I sent them to her and she just loved them.  Here is the pattern for the “kitchen pants”, here is the pattern for the coasters.  I used Lion Brand Kitchen Cotton in Salt and Pepper.  I pretty much followed the pattern as is, except that I put an edging on both.  On the pants I put the basic sc edging, and on the coasters I did the reverse sc thing.

Friday’s Feast

Friday Feast

Feast One Hundred & Thirteen

Appetizer ~ What is your favorite herb or spice? ~ Garlic Powder/Garlic Salt

Soup ~ Name a song you like but haven’t heard in a long time. ~ Honey by Bobby Goldsboro

Salad ~ If you were to take just one minute to write down as many things as you can think of that you need (not want) to do, approximately how many things would there be? ~ Maybe about 3 or 4, and one would definitely be to EXERCISE!

Main Course ~ Tell something interesting about one of your family members (nothing scandalous, please, just something unique). ~  My sister is an excellent hula dancer, so good in fact that she used to work for Don Ho!

Dessert ~ What’s the latest you’ve ever stayed awake? ~  I remember making it almost 30 something hours once when I was 15 – we were in the middle of a hurricane in FWB, FL – and it’s impossible to sleep with a hurricane.  It was Hurricane Eloise.

Generation After Generation

September 28, 2006 at 2:29 pm (Journaling)

My daughter and I were sitting at a meeting last night paying attention to the conductor when all of a sudden I get this note passed to me:

Mommy,

I love you, do you love me?  Yes or No

Love, Me

Now this is exactly what I used to do with MY mother and sister, pass them little notes asking them forever if they loved me.  When I got this from my daughter, tears welled up and nostalgia crept into the brain.  It was a very touching moment.  I love my daughter, can you tell???

Thursday Threesome

September 28, 2006 at 5:48 am (Thursday Threesome)

Thursday Threesome

::Clean Air Act::

Onesome: Clean– as a whistle? Can you whistle? When did you learn? …and with
pursed lips or with that finger thing? ~ Gosh, I have always been SUPER envious of my mother being able to whistle with the two finger thing. I cannot do it no matter how hard I try. I can whistle with the pursed lips thing. I can’t say I remember when I learned, but I want to say around 6 years old.

Twosome: Air– quality: an issue where you live or not? …enough to move? ~
We live on the East Coast of US, so the ocean breezes really help keep this city air clean. The only problem we have is in the summer when the air seems to just hang over the area like a hot, wet, blanket.

Threesome: Act– Hey, do you ‘act your age’? Sure, that’s subjective, but what
do you think? …or better yet: what do your friends think <g>? ~ As of the moment, I think I act way older than I am, because I feel it! Those that have known me forever are worried about me because I have gotten myself into a cocoon, those that have only known me this way think I am a bit of an old loner.

Shrug and Halter by Luv2Crochet

September 26, 2006 at 6:27 am (Children's Wearables)

I really like the patterns that Luv2Crochet comes up with!  I purchased this one for my daughter and she wants to wear it EVERYWHERE!  It’s made with Bernat CottonTots – I wanted it in pink like the pattern but alas I couldn’t find it anywhere around these parts, and I didn’t want to order online this time.

Monday’s Meme ~ Miss Elainie

September 25, 2006 at 5:34 am (Miss Elainie)

Miss Elainie

Finish these famous quotes in your “own” words.

1. A penny saved is ~ pretty smart!

2. Man is the only animal that ~ truly love.

3. Happiness is nothing more than ~ giving until it hurts.

4. It ain’t over till ~ I say it’s over!  😉

5. To err is human; to forgive ~ is the hardest thing one can do.

1. Ben Franklin ~ earned.
2. Mark Twain ~ blushes or needs to.
3. Albert Schweitzer ~ good health and a bad memory.
4. Yogi Berra ~ it’s over.

So Lost Without the ‘Ville!

September 22, 2006 at 6:12 am (Journaling)

How sad is that???  The site hasn’t been up since early yesterday afternoon.  And the one place we can generally find information on what is happening is here and yet she has said nothing about what is going on.

It’s times like this that my paranoia/conspiracy theorist comes out in full force.  I start thinking all sorts of implausable situations of why “I” cannot see the ‘Ville (or stick in any number of occurences!) – Anyhoo, it’s a good thing I am working today…so I can bend my mind in a different direction!

Friday’s Feast

Friday Feast

Feast One Hundred & Twelve
Appetizer ~ Measured in minutes or hours, how much exercise have you had in the last week? ~ Sadly, I have to report that besides work (which is mostly standing) and basic motherhood activities of three children and one husband, I have not done any exercise this week.  But I am going to try to convince my husband this weekend to buy me an elliptical, does that count?

Soup ~ If you had to change your blog title to something else, what would it be? ~ Krazy KnicKnac’s Korner ~ just don’t want the acronym for it.

Salad ~ Name one television show you watched when you were 9-12 years old. ~ The Brady Bunch on Friday nights.

Main Course ~ If someone gave you $50 to spend with the one condition that it had to be educational, what would you purchase? ~ Does it have to be educational for me?  If not, then I would buy some sort of math computer program for my daughter.  For me?  I would love to learn to play the Ukulele!  Is that considered educational?

Dessert ~ Do you tend to prefer dark colors, neutral shades, or lighter/pastel hues? ~ Dark and deep.
