July 18, 2006 at 7:14 am (Misc, Swaps & RAOK)

I showed you all awhile ago the toys that I made for an Toy Swap at the ‘Ville. I have neglected to post pictures of the toys we received in exchange! These are WONDERFUL toys passed on to my family via a poster at the ‘Ville.

Thank you Elizabeth for a most enjoyable experience in swapping!

Chic on the Half Shell!!!

July 18, 2006 at 7:03 am (Accessories)

A while back I wrote to Drew (The Crochet Dude) to ask him which one of his purses I could make with the small amount of really nice yarn I had purchased to work on a swap present for MY Secret Pal – he recommended that I give his “Chic on a Half Shell” purse a try. Well I did, and I LOVE the results!

I did something a little different to the handle part because when I made it, the yarn seemed a bit flimsy and I wanted the handle to be a bit more secure.

Another Secret Pal Package – REVEAL!

July 18, 2006 at 6:38 am (Swaps & RAOK)

WOO HOO!!! Look at this! This is my third and final package received from my now KNOWN Secret Pal “Robin” – Thank you so much Robin for taking all the time you did to make this swap a most enjoyable one! Would you all just notice everything???

First, here is everything minus one item, saving that one for last! (Remember that all the images are clickable!)

There are two skeins of Wool Ease in purple, you can’t really see the color but it’s beautiful. There are two pattern books, one for purses and one for ponchos. One verigated RHSS skein in pretty purples. One beautiful scented candle. A refrigerator magnet. And then LOOK AT THAT PURSE!!! I don’t know what kind of yarn it is, but it’s gorgeous and soft and it’s got BEADS!!!! And, it comes with a matching cell phone holder! WOO HOO – and as if that’s not enough, look at that little pig note holder!!! YOU RULE ROBIN, did I mention that yet???????

Ok, all of the above is awesome, great, wonderful, fabulous and just plain old GROOVY … BUT, Robin? You outdid yourself with this…

Look at this!!! Look at this hook holder!!! Look at the hooks in it already!!! Including a CLOVER HOOK!!! This is my FIRST one!!!! Ok, look at all the folds on the hook holder! It’s a PIG HOOK HOLDER!!!! It even has a cute little PIGGY TAIL!!!

Robin sure went above and beyond on this swap, thank you SO MUCH for making the swap a most enjoyable experience.

“H” Pillow

July 14, 2006 at 7:21 am (Home Decor)

This is something I did for my husband’s niece. It was a very special day for her and I wanted to give her something to remember that day! It’s a pillow! You can find the pattern here – I did it differently in that I did one side in yarn and the other side was material. The yarn I used is fast becoming one of my favorites! It’s called Fantasy Naturale and it’s 100% mercerized cotton. I also edged it with eyelash yarn. Remember that the images are clickable!

Fat Bottom Bag

July 14, 2006 at 7:01 am (Accessories)

All around the ‘Ville, there are a lot of Fat Bottoms … Fat Bottom Bags that is! I just had to purchase this book, and please don’t be offended by the title, but it’s a GREAT Crochet Pattern book! It’s called the Happy Hooker!!! It has so many fabulous patterns in it, but I purchased it specifically to get this pattern (remember, images are clickable!):

I sent this one off yesterday to my sister-in-law – she is a big Tony Stewart fan and I almost put a huge “20” on it for her, but at the last minute decided to just put a flower. That is why the purse is orange. This was actually super simple to do, and I think I am going to make MORE of them!!! I love Fat Bottoms!!!I lined the purse, which almost took as long as crocheting the dang thing!

The yarn I used was Sugar and Cream Cotton in Pumpkin.

Sent This One to My Sister!!!

July 14, 2006 at 6:43 am (Adult Wearables)

I tested this for a different designer – she doesn’t have a website yet, but I will be sure to post it when she does. I am not one for shawls, or I would have kept this one for myself! LOL – My big sister says she loves it! Again, the picture is clickable to see it larger!

The yarn I used on this one is Red Heart Luster Sheen in white.

Tested Another One!

July 14, 2006 at 6:37 am (Children's Wearables, Testing)

Ok, I just sent this out yesterday. It’s going to my Grand Nephew in Florida. The designer I sometimes test for designed this excellent pattern for a little boy. I am horrible at cross stitching, but I did my best! The image is clickable to see it better. The designer is from Crochet Garden.

The yarn I used for this is Bernat Softee Baby in Denim and White, with a little of a blue Caron Simply Soft.
